Fox’s Jay Glazer criticized for hyping ‘big, big news’ of NFL player’s COVID-19 test

With much unknown about what lies ahead for the NFL because of the COVID-19 pandemic, fans are eager for any news of the league’s future.

So it was noteworthy when Fox Sports NFL Insider Jay Glazer said he had a huge scoop because has uncovered some big stories in the past.

On Tuesday night, Glazer piqued the interest of fans when he told Fox Sports Radio: “I am breaking big, big news tomorrow night on Fox Football Now. I mean big, national news tomorrow. I’m not kidding around.”

When the show aired Wednesday night, Glazer broke the news that Rams center Brian Allen had tested positive for the coronavirus. Three weeks ago.

It’s a noteworthy story, and the positive takeaway is the Rams say Allen is “feeling good, he’s healthy and he’s on the road to recovery.”

But some thought it was in poor taste to spend 24 hours playing up the news of a player’s positive test.
