Arrowhead was lit in blue as Chiefs joined Royals, Sporting to honor healthcare workers

Arrowhead Stadium was awash in blue lights on Thursday night, and it was a strange sight.

But that’s the point.

The Chiefs joined the Royals and Sporting Kansas City in turning their stadiums the color blue as part of the “Light It Blue” campaign. It was a way to thank healthcare professionals and essential workers for their tireless work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Even though the Royals and Sporting Kansas City have blue as one of their primary colors, their stadiums looked a little different, too.
