Mavericks’ Mark Cuban rips senators for failing to reach coronavirus stimulus deal
At one point, the U.S. Senate had hoped to reach an agreement Sunday on a stimulus bill that would help people as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
But Democrats and Republicans have continued to bicker and, as of Tuesday morning, a deal was not in place.
With businesses closing and the stock market down markedly since the start of the month, people have expressed their displeasure.
That includes Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, who took dead aim at Democratic senator Chuck Schumer and Republican senator John Cornyn. Those two had taken to Twitter to air their differences.
On Tuesday morning, Cuban ripped both men in a pair of expletive-laced tweets.
Cuban wrote: “BOTH OF YOU NEED TO DO YOUR (expletive) JOB! @SenSchumer, stop kissing progressive ass. We can’t solve every problem in this deal @JohnCornyn , stop kissing big corporate ass. They don’t need buybacks or exec bonuses. They have no choice but to take any deal they can get.
“The economy is crashing and people are getting sick and dying because you 2 hard (jerks) think your agendas are bigger than the health and future of the American people. They are not. There is no perfect deal. TIME IS OUR ENEMY. Get this done today !”
On Monday, Cuban tweeted a plan to help small businesses during these difficult times.
