Three highlights of new Chiefs quarterback Jordan Ta’amu show his versatility

When the Chiefs open camp, there will be a quarterback battle to watch.

Not Patrick Mahomes vs. Chad Henne, of course. It’ll be for the third-string job as Kyle Shurmur and Jordan Ta’amu seemingly will have the best chance to win the job.

Ta’amu agreed to terms with the Chiefs on Monday after he played five games with the St. Louis Battlehawks of the XFL.

Despite a short spell in the XFL, which shut down because of the coronavirus pandemic, there are highlights that show Ta’amu’s versatility.

First, Ta’amu showed his cool under pressure, completing this pass despite a defender grabbing his leg:

Ta’amu showed off his arm strength on this play. This pass was on the money and the ball traveled 40 yards in the air:

Ta’amu also rushed for 217 yards with the Battlehawks and showed he wasn’t afraid of contact:
