Kansas basketball releases its own ‘One Shining Moment’ video

Kansas basketball coach Bill Self said if the Jayhawks were given the national championship because they finished atop the Associated Press poll, there would be a “huge asterisk on both sides.”

Still, there’s a chance the National Association of Basketball Coaches could award a national championship trophy to KU. That decision would be controversial, because fans of Gonzaga and other schools believe their team was the best in the nation.

While no one is going to agree on a national champ, all can concur these are strange times with the coronavirus pandemic leading to the cancellation of the NCAA Tournament — and all other sports in the United States.

But college teams are bringing back one familiar part of the tournament.

The end of the NCAA Tournament is usually marked by the “One Shining Moment” song played while a compilation of clips from the games are shown.

That won’t happen, but teams around the nation have made their own version, including Kansas.
