Former major-league pitcher offers advice to people with anxiety about coronavirus

These are tough times. There’s been a steady increase in the number of people infected with coronavirus in the United States and the world. Sports have been canceled. Grocery stores are rationing some items and some shelves are bare.

Perhaps worst of all, social distancing has meant less human contact. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted people everywhere in a big way.

It’s unsurprising that people who already deal with anxiety might be feeling it more these days.

That’s why former major-league pitcher Dan Haren tweeted about how it has affected him and gave some sound advice to anyone dealing with anxiety and/or depression. There’s no shame in seeking professional help.

Haren, who was a three-time All-Star during 13 seasons with eight teams in Major League Baseball, also interacted with people on Twitter.

Comedian Gary Gulman, who has battled with depression in the past, shared some ideas on dealing with those issues during the pandemic:
