Former Royals player says Mike Moustakas didn’t tolerate hazing in KC’s clubhouse

On Friday, Detroit shortstop Niko Goodrum shared on Twitter how he was treated when the Tigers called him to the big-league club in 2017.

Goodrum, who quote-tweeted a video about hazing in the clubhouse, wrote: “(T)hey did a good job of making me feel like I wasn’t a part of the team. Bad feeling when you solo dolo in a clubhouse! I won’t forget that feeling and I always make sure now that NOT ONE young guy feels left out!”

Twins minor league outfielder Lane Adams saw Goodrum’s tweet and shared a story of breaking into the big leagues during the 2014 season with the Royals.

Adams wrote that former Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas, whose Twitter handle is @Mooose_8, had a zero-tolerance policy when it came to hazing.

“This makes me appreciate @Mooose_8 even more,” Adams wrote in the tweet. “Moose pulled me to the side after my first MLB call-up and said... ‘if anybody gives you a hard time or tries to make you do some stupid (stuff), let me know’.”

He didn’t say “stuff,” so here is a link to the tweet.

Moustakas, who isn’t the most active person on Twitter, liked Adams’ tweet.

Adams appeared in six games for the Royals in 2014, going hitless in three at-bats and scoring a run. He also wasn’t hazed by the veterans.

Then again, who would have wanted to cross Moustakas?
