Sammy Watkins tweets of ‘next adventure,’ and Chiefs fans hope that means his vacation

The math doesn’t look good for Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins.

As CBS noted, the Chiefs could open $14 million in cap space in 2020 if they released Watkins. Should the Chiefs keep Watkins under his current contract, his hit against the cap would be $21 million.

Watkins, who had a huge 38-yard reception on the touchdown drive that put the Chiefs ahead in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LIV, even tweeted about it on Monday:

That roughly translates to: look at this/mind blown/shhh/cool. Some fans were baffled.

That’s up for interpretation. Ditto for what Watkins tweeted Wednesday night:

Many Chiefs fans hoped that either meant a vacation, feared he would be leaving or thanked Watkins for helping the Chiefs win the Super Bowl:
