For Pete's Sake

Southwest Airlines praises Chiefs, trolls Bears with one in-flight announcement

As one Tom Petty song notes, it’s good to be king.

These days, the Chiefs are the NFL’s royalty, having won Super Bowl LIV. And fans are still feeling good vibes from the victory.

Case in point: Rodney White, the public address announcer for Basehor-Linwood sports, was flying on Southwest Airlines from Austin, Texas, to Kansas City when an announcement made him smile.

It seems at least one Southwest Airlines employee is well aware of the fact that the Chicago Bears drafted quarterback Mitchell Trubisky instead of Patrick Mahomes in 2017.

White tweeted this:

Pete Grathoff
The Kansas City Star
From covering the World Series to the World Cup, Pete Grathoff has done a little bit of everything since joining The Kansas City Star in 1997.
