For Pete's Sake

NFL Network analyst ranks Patrick Mahomes in Top 5 of world’s most exciting athletes

Perhaps it is best to start with this: a lot of people are going to disagree about this ranking and for a variety of reasons.

But Adam Rank of the NFL Network put together his list of the 14* most exciting athletes in the world to watch in 2020. Some will not be happy with players left off the list, while others will think the order is all wrong.

*It was supposed to be a top 10 list, but he wrote that it was too tough to cap at 10

Despite being on the NFL Network, Rank only has one football player on the list, which appears at NFL.com.

It’s Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. And he is ranked No. 4. This is part of what Rank wrote about Mahomes: “Look, I’m a fan of the Chicago Bears. And even I can’t be mad at Mahomes. I should be, but I can’t. I mean, it’s not his fault the Bears chose Mitchell Trubisky over the guy who’s won the league MVP and Super Bowl MVP in his first two seasons as a starter. I can’t hold it against him. So I will continue cheering every no-look pass he throws out there on the field.”

The top three: “Playoff” LeBron James, Tiger Woods and Mike Trout. You can read what he wrote about those three and the other players on the list here.
