For the first time since it was revealed the Astros used electronic sign-stealing scheme to gain an advantage during their World Series championship season in 2017, Houston players fully addressed the scandal on Thursday.
Using a camera in center field to steal a catcher’s sign to the pitcher, Astros team personnel let Houston hitters know what pitch was coming by hitting a garbage can.
That advantage may or may not have helped the Astros, owner Jim Crane said during this exchange with ESPN’s Marly Rivera:
