Football observers debate if Chiefs’ Eric Bieniemy should pursue Colorado job
Michigan State hired a football coach overnight, and that usually wouldn’t affect the Chiefs.
But the Spartans tabbed Colorado’s Mel Tucker as their new coach, leaving an opening in Boulder. NFL.com reported Colorado is expected to contact Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy for the job.
Bieniemy is the Buffaloes’ career leading rusher (3,940 yards from 1987 to 1990) and no one has more rushing touchdowns in school history (41). He later was offensive coordinator at Colorado for two seasons before being hired by the Chiefs in 2013.
But should Bieniemy, who didn’t get a NFL head coaching job this offseason despite interviewing with the Browns, Panthers and Giants, move to the college ranks?
NFL writers were not in agreement. Here is what’s being said.
