Rachael Ray to buy food for all 109 dogs to be adopted thanks to Chiefs’ Derrick Nnadi

Just when Kansas Citians thought it was impossible to love the Chiefs more after they won Super Bowl LIV, defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi went and did something awesome.

Nnadi paid the adoption fee for all available dogs at KC Pet Project, and more than 50 of those dogs under the deal already have a new home.

KC Pet Project shared this update Tuesday:

Here is the original posting about Nnadi’s generous gift to the animal shelter:

While playing at Florida State, Nnadi got a shelter dog named Rocky.

“All my life, I always wanted a dog,” Nnadi told CNN. “When I first got him, he was very timid. It made me think of how other animals, whether they’re owned or in a shelter, are feeling scared and alone.”

Nnadi’s story went viral, and it touched celebrity cook Rachael Ray, who decided to help as well. She offered to buy the food for all those dogs for the rest of 2020:

Here is Rocky, who is clearly a very good dog:
