High school classmate predicted in yearbook that Patrick Mahomes would win Super Bowl

Spencer Shaw called the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory six years ago.

Sure, it wasn’t that specific, but Shaw was in the same graduating class at Whitehouse High School in Texas as Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. And Shaw had an inkling one day Mahomes would win a Super Bowl.

Their school yearbook asked the graduating class in 2014: “What are you looking forward to most about your class reunion?”

Shaw wrote: “Seeing Patrick Mahomes’ Super Bowl ring.”

After the Chiefs defeated the 49ers 31-20 and won Super Bowl LIV on Sunday night, Mahomes will be receiving a Super Bowl ring. Shaw tweeted the proof of his prediction:

If you missed it, The Star’s Sam McDowell and Eric Adler went to Whitehouse before the Super Bowl and learned a bit more about Mahomes for this story.
