Joe Montana makes ‘guarantee’ his team will win the Super Bowl in funny tweet
With the Chiefs set to face the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV, there are a number of natural story lines about the connections between the teams.
That includes the former 49ers quarterbacks who later played for the Chiefs, including Steve Bono, Elvis Grabc and Alex Smith.
Oh, and Joe Montana, who won four Super Bowls in 13 seasons with the 49ers. He then joined the Chiefs and helped advance to the AFC Championship Game in the 1993 season.
That had been the brightest moment for the Chiefs since Super Bowl IV until, well, Patrick Mahomes became the starting quarterback.
So, some may be wondering: who will Montana be cheering for in Super Bowl LIV? On Monday, he tweeted a humorous message about that very question:
Well, he’s right. You know that?
