Patrick Mahomes’ 60-yard TD pass to Sammy Watkins sewed up Chiefs’ Super Bowl berth

The Chiefs already had an 11-point lead when quarterback Patrick Mahomes cocked his right arm and let go of the ball.

Mahomes had spotted Sammy Watkins behind the secondary in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s AFC Championship Game, and the pass was on the money. Watkins scored to make it 35-17 and, well, nearly everyone at Arrowhead Stadium knew the game was essentially over.

It was a beautiful 60-yard touchdown pass and Mahomes was fired up, as was anyone wearing red at Arrowhead Stadium.
