For Pete's Sake

Twitter map shows who fans in U.S. most want to win in NFL’s championship games

With Miami playing host to Super Bowl LIV, perhaps it would be instructive to see who fans in the Sunshine State most want to play in the big game.

Well hey, it’s the Chiefs.

That’s according to the NFL specialists at sportsbetting.ag, who once again analyzed Twitter data from the nation’s football followers and determined which team fans in each state most hope will win Sunday’s two NFL championship games.

Since the end of the Divisional Round playoff games, the specialists searched hashtags like #ChiefsKingdom and #Titans with what the company calls “trends software with direct access to geotagged Twitter data.”

In addition to Florida, the Chiefs were the favorite in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Illinois.

The Tennessee Titans, the Chiefs’ opponent on Sunday, were the pick in six states.

San Francisco was the No. 1 choice in 13 states and Green Bay was the favorites in 21, including Minnesota, which seems odd given the Packers-Vikings rivalry.

Here is the map:
