Stephen A. Smith: ‘All of us’ should be rooting for Chiefs to make the Super Bowl
Like many NFL fans watching Sunday’s AFC Divisional Playoff game, ESPN commentator Steven A. Smith was amazed what he saw.
The Chiefs fell into 24-point deficit but scored 41 straight points against the Houston Texans. When it was over, the Chiefs had won 51-31.
The Chiefs’ firepower stunned Smith and he took to Twitter urging the nation to get on the Chiefs’ bandwagon.
Smith tweeted: “This is just unreal. All of us — and I do mean ALL OF US — who care about having a sensational Super Bowl, should be rooting heavily for @Patrick Mahomes and the @Chiefs to get to the Super Bowl. I’ve now gotten to the point where I believe that’s all that can stop the @49ers”
Not only have the @Chiefs scored 34-unanswered points (5 TD’s in a row), but their last TD, on the opening drive of the 2nd half, was scored without @tkelce (Hamstring) on the field. This is the kind of threat we need to see in the Super Bowl.#LetUsPray”
Later Smith added: “We are watching the @warriors of the @NFL with these @Chiefs, man. This is unreal to witness. In 1 1/2 quarters, they look surreal and unstoppable on offense. Down 24-0, they’re about to have scored 41-unanswered points inside of 20 minutes or so. Just unreal.”
