Texans fan wins football signed by Chiefs’ Tyrann Mathieu ... and punts it into a lake

Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu played just the 2018 season with the Houston Texans, but at some point he apparently signed a football for a charitable event.

That football ended up in a lake.

A video shared Friday on Twitter shows a man winning what is said to be Mathieu-signed Texans football. When the man claimed his prize, he wasted no time in punting the ball into a nearby lake.

It was a strange scene, one that can be chalked up to the Texans and Chiefs meeting Sunday in the AFC Divisional playoffs.

Here is the video from Twitter user Landry Locker:

Does that seem lame? Maybe a bit, I don’t know, wack?

Mathieu thought so:

This won’t have any bearing on Sunday’s game between the Chiefs and Texans, of course. It was just an odd thing to do.
