Paul Rudd makes appeal to Chiefs fans to help Dustin Colquitt win NFL award

In February, actor/Chiefs fan Paul Rudd was host of the annual NFL honors show and he announced that Patrick Mahomes had won the league’s MVP award.

On Thursday, Rudd threw his support behind another Chiefs player who is in the running for a major award. Punter Dustin Colquitt is the Chiefs’ nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award, which is given to a player who excels on and off the field.

As part of the campaign, fans can vote on Twitter and the player with the most tweets will receive a $25,000 contribution to their charity of choice. There also is money for second ($10,000 donation) and third place ($5,000 donation).

Colquitt works with Team Smile. This is from the NFL’s bio of Colquitt’s charitable effort: “In 2019 alone, Colquitt’s efforts at TeamSmile are projected to result in 8,500 underserved children receiving $3.8M in free dental and preventative care. Those figures will surpass last season’s high-water marks when TeamSmile conducted more clinic programs (29), served a greater number of children (5,432), and provided more complementary oral-health services ($2M) than ever before.”

On Thursday, Colquitt tweeted a video in which he asks fans to vote for him on Twitter. Mahomes and Rudd, the star of “Ant-Man,” make an appearance in support of Colquitt:
