Sports Illustrated, CBS Sports writers believe Chiefs will win Super Bowl LIV
It’s 30 days until Super Bowl LIV in Miami, and Chiefs fans are hoping to see the Lombardi Trophy handed to owner Clark Hunt after that game.
As NFL fans have learned, anything can happen in the playoffs, and the Chiefs are the second seed in the AFC behind the Baltimore Ravens. So that magic moment is anything but assured.
However, a couple of national sportswriters made picks for the postseason and they see the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl. Here is what they are saying.
Sports Illustrated’s writers offered their prediction for which team would win Super Bowl LIV. Mitch Goldich sees the Chiefs knocking off the Saints.
Here is part of what he wrote about the road to the big game: “The Chiefs, meanwhile, are playing great on both sides of the ball. Last year everything looked so easy for them; I like that this year they feel a little more battle-tested. The Ravens are great, but if any team is equipped to hang with them in a shootout, it’s Kansas City. Remember how aggressive John Harbaugh was against the Chiefs in the regular season, now bring on the rematch.”
While the other six Sports Illustrated writers don’t see the Chiefs even making the Super Bowl, you can read more here of what Goldich wrote and why others see the Chiefs fall short.
Will Brinson of CBS Sports plotted a course to the Super Bowl (officially headlined: “NFL playoff bracket projection”) that would particularly satisfying to Chiefs fans. Then again, fans won’t care how the Chiefs get it done, just so long as they are playing in Miami on Feb. 2.
Brinson sees the Chiefs beating the Saints 31-28.
Here is part of what he wrote about Andy Reid: “The oft-maligned time manager comes through with a title thanks to Patrick Mahomes and a solid defensive performance from the Chiefs as Kansas City brings home the championship.”
Brinson offers thoughts on every scheduled and potential playoff game through the Super Bowl. You can read more here.
