For Pete's Sake

610 Sports is unveiling a new mid-day show on Thursday

The new year is all about fresh starts and 610 Sports (KCSP 610 AM) has a new mid-day show to kick off 2020.

“Cody and Gold,” featuring Cody Tapp and Alex Gold, will make its debut in the 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. slot on the station, replacing the “Show and Vern” program.

Ron “Show” Hughley tweeted in November that he had been let go by KCSP, and a month later the station announced Josh Vernier would return as Royals Insider, replacing Tapp.

Tapp, a graduate of Winnetonka High School and UMKC, announced his new show Monday on KCSP.

“I want to thank everyone who helped get me here & I really hope you’ll give us a shot! Pumped to be hosting in my hometown,” Tapp tweeted.

Gold, a graduate of Olathe Northwest and the University of Kansas, had been working at SB Nation Radio in Houston.

On Monday, Gold tweeted about his new job: “Those of you who know me well have always known my dream of hosting a sports talk show in Kansas City. I am so thrilled to have accepted a job at 610 Sports Radio in Kansas City!”

Stephen Serda will be the show’s producer.
