Next Gen Stats: Tyreek Hill had fastest speed of any NFL player on Damien Williams’ TD

Chiefs running back Damien Williams wowed fans with his 84-yard touchdown run during Sunday’s game against the Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium.

Williams seemed to be stopped for a short gain, but spun away from the defense and sped past the Chargers defenders.

It was a terrific play.

As was the case with Williams’ 91-yard touchdown run against the Vikings earlier this season, teammate Tyreek Hill joined the fun. Hill hit the jets and tried to catch Williams before he reached the end zone.

Hill was unsuccessful, but the NFL’s Next Gen Stats noted, Hill reached a top seed of 22.81 mph while trying to catch Williams. That’s tied for the fastest speed for a player in the NFL this season.
