Chiefs’ Mecole Hardman returns kickoff 104 yards for a touchdown against Chargers
This came just when the Chiefs needed it most.
After the Chargers had taken a 14-10 lead early in the third quarter of Sunday’s game at Arrowhead Stadium, Chiefs rookie Mecole Hardman took the lead right back.
Hardman took the ensuring kickoff back 104 yards for a touchdown.
It was the first kickoff return for a touchdown allowed by the Chargers since 2011, CBS announcer Kevin Harlan said.
The Chiefs said it was the team’s first kick return for a touchdown since Tyreek Hill returned one 86 yards at Denver on Nov. 27, 2016. It’s the third longest KR TD in franchise history.
