Bears fans aren’t feeling great about Sunday’s game against the Chiefs
With all apologies to Carrie Underwood, not everyone will be “Waiting All Day For Sunday Night.”
That’s the theme song she sings for NBC’s “Sunday Night Football,” which will be showing the Chiefs’ game against the Bears in Chicago this weekend. Let’s just say, anticipation is not building for the game.
A week ago, the NFL considered flexing the Chiefs-Bears game out of Sunday night in favor of the Saints-Titans contest. Alas, the change wasn’t made.
The Bears (7-7) have been eliminated from playoff contention, and fan confidence heading into Sunday night is low.
USA Today’s Bears Wire asked fans who they think will win the game against the Chiefs (10-4).
A whopping 80.5% picked the Chiefs.
In addition to thinking the Bears won’t win the game, Chicago fans are not thrilled about a national television audience being reminded of their team’s 2017 draft blunder. The Bears traded up from No. 3 overall to No. 2 and drafted quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.
Eight picks later, the Chiefs took Patrick Mahomes, who won the NFL Most Valuable Player award in his first season as a starter.
So Bears fans weren’t thrilled about the game staying in prime time:
