Although Ravens didn’t try to claim Terrell Suggs, their fans are mad at Chiefs

When his playing days end, outside linebacker Terrell Suggs likely will be picked for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Suggs played 16 seasons with the Ravens, collecting 132 1/2 sacks and a Super Bowl ring. Suggs signed with the Arizona Cardinals this past offseason despite the Ravens’ attempts to sign him.

In 13 games with the Cardinals, Suggs had 5 1/2 sacks. But Arizona released him on Friday as the team reportedly wants to look at some younger players.

On Monday, the Chiefs claimed Suggs, 37, off waivers (KC made it official on Tuesday). The Ravens didn’t put in a claim for Suggs, because the team has the NFL’s best record and is last in the waiver list, ESPN’s Josina Anderson reported.

Some Ravens fans were furious that the Chiefs denied Baltimore a potential reunion with Suggs, who reportedly wanted to return to his former team. Here is a sample of what was being said on Twitter (the tweets without cursing, that is):
