Seven statistics you may have missed from Chiefs’ 23-16 win at New England

The Chiefs clinched the AFC West title, moved up to the third seed in the AFC playoff field and now have an important tie-breaker with the Patriots, who hold the No. 2 seed.

So a lot came out of Sunday’s 23-16 win over New England at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Here are seven stats from the game you may have missed via the Chiefs and information shared on Twitter:

1. Mecole Hardman tied a team record for the most touchdown receptions by a rookie receiver in a season when he hauled in a 48-yard touchdown in the first half. It was Hardman’s sixth touchdown catch, which tied him with Tyreek Hill, Fred Arbanas and Stephone Paige.

2. Patrick Mahomes’ win at Gillette Stadium was noteworthy:

3. Tanoh Kpassagnon has blocked a kick in two straight games. He blocked a 41-yard field goal attempt by the Patriots’ Nick Folk on Sunday. A week earlier, Kpassagnon blocked Oakland’s extra-point attempt. The blocked field-goal attempt was the first by the Chiefs since Eric Murray blocked a 53-yard field goal attempt at Oakland on Oct. 19, 2017.

4. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has completed 92 passes this season to running backs, including 62 to James White. But as Soren Petro of WHB-810 radio noted, the Chiefs defense took that away on Sunday:

5. Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker kicked three field goals and two extra points and now has 402 career points. That is the second-most by any player in their first three seasons in NFL history.

1. 409 Wil Lutz 2016-18

2. 402 Harrison Butker 2017-19

3. 401 Justin Tucker 2007-09

4. 397 Mason Crosby 2007-09

5. 390 Dan Bailey 2011-13

6. Tight end Travis Kelce scored his first-career rushing touchdown on a 4-yard run. It was actually his fourth career rushing attempt and he has now gained 6 yards on the ground. That career total is weighed down by a 5-yard loss against the Buccaneers.

7. Chiefs coach Andy Reid picked up his 100th career road victory. Reid and Patriots coach Bill Belichick are the only two active NFL head coaches with 200 or more victories and 100 or more road victories. Here are the coaches with most victories in NFL history (regular season and playoffs combined)

1. 347 Don Shula

2. 324 George Halas

3. 302 Bill Belichick

4. 270 Tom Landry

5. 229 Curly Lambeau

6. 216 Andy Reid
