‘An all-time classic.’ Chiefs may have lost, but the nation was captivated

In the final minutes of the Chiefs’ 54-51 loss to the Rams on Monday night, ESPN’s Joe Tessitore had already called the game “an all-time classic.”

It’s hard to argue with that.

Monday’s game was the highest-scoring contest in the history of “Monday Night Football” — and that’s 773 games.

The back-and-forth affair was must-watch television from the start, and viewers who tuned in across the country were riveted by the play of Patrick Mahomes and Jared Goff and their teammates.
