Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes got an unhappy surprise while playing Fortnite

This Fortnite/NFL mashup is apparently coming to an end.

Last week, users could pay to buy an NFL jersey skin in the wildly popular video game, but Gamespot reported that they are no longer being sold in Fortnite.

No reason was given, but it’s possible that red flags were raised when gamers brought the late Aaron Hernandez back to life in the game, according to the Daily Mail. The site noted that players were also using O.J. Simpson in a shooting game.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes apparently ran into another user in his jersey while playing Fortnite.

It didn’t end well for Mahomes, who tweeted on Tuesday: “Yesterday i played fortnite for the first time in a while and someone killed me with my jersey on.. don’t know how i feel about it...”

Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill, in true friend fashion, tweeted back at Mahomes: “It was me.”

Mahomes responded: “Thank you for wearing my jersey can i wear yours?”

These Chiefs players clearly aren’t just teammates, they’re good friends, too.

Here is their exchange:
