Some KU fans thank David Beaty for his work with the Jayhawks

It’s official: David Beaty’s time as the Kansas football coach is coming to an end.

Beaty, who has a 6-39 record in his tenure as the Jayhawks coach, will stay in his job through the end of the season.

While plenty of Kansas fans were happy about the news of Beaty’s firing, there were quite a few who showed their support for Beaty.

Here is what they were saying:

Reports are that David Beaty is being fired. Great man that I hope finds great success elsewhere. He just wasn’t able to complete what was admittedly a very hard task. Man. Really like David Beaty. He did a lot for the program in terms of recruiting talent, building the numbers of the team to a P5 standard, and having some stability. But his shortcomings was always the game magagement and offense. Wish him well. Good dude just not a great coach

I like Coach Beaty & I think any success KU has in the future will have a lot to do with him fixing a lot of things that were broken. Scholarship situation, player fitness, academics, off-field discipline, etc. Weis and Gill broke all of that. But at some point, you gotta win.
