Former Broncos players upset with team’s performance in loss to Chiefs

It wasn’t just Broncos fans who were unhappy with the team’s play in Sunday’s 30-23 loss to the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.

A couple of former players sounded off on Twitter, too.

Former tight end Shannon Sharpe and wide receiver Rod Smith both took to the social-media channel to express their frustration with their former team.

Sharpe tweeted about offensive lineman Garrett Boles: “Broncos LT Bolles going to get his qb hurt. He gets a holding call and pre snap penalty damn near every gm.”

There was a meme included:

Smith responded to that tweet with a bit of, um, colorful language and took note of how hard it is to play at Arrowhead Stadium. I linked to it here, but this is the PG version of the tweet: “This (expletive) is ridiculous to watch. Can’t make mistakes in that place. None. And we have about 12.”

The Broncos’ official Twitter account also had a single emoji to express its feelings:
