Red Sox announcer fell out of his chair making call on Andrew Benintendi’s catch

The Boston Red Sox won 108 games this season, and the Houston Astros won 103, so most observers believed the American League Championship Series had a chance to be fall-out-of-your-seat good.

And that was the case in Game 4 on Wednesday night.

Boston won 8-6 in a back-and-forth contest that was good from the first inning (a controversial call of fan interference that took away a two-run homer from the Astros) to the ninth (the Red Sox escaping a bases-loaded jam).

Houston had the bases loaded with two outs in thr ninth when Alex Bregman hit a looping liner to left field. Boston’s Andrew Benintendi made a do-or-die diving catch to secure the victory. Had that ball gotten by Benintendi, Houston likely would have won.
