Ellen DeGeneres, Peyton Manning make funny congratulatory messages for Drew Brees

Saints quarterback Drew Brees didn’t choose to break the record on “Monday Night Football,” but it was the perfect time.

With the NFL world watching, Brees supplanted former Colts/Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning for the most passing yards in league history during New Orleans’ win over Washington.

Brees has 72,103 yards passing (and counting), while Manning had 71,940 yards in his decorated career.

Accolades soon followed, including a funny video message from Manning, who took time from cutting tomatoes to congratulate Brees.

Ellen DeGeneres of “Ellen” fame also recorded a humorous message for Brees:
