It was an epic fail in basketball tic-tac-toe game – from both contestants

We’ve all been there before: running on fumes on a Thursday night after a long work week. Sometimes, our brains sort of switch off.

That apparently was the case at Thursday’s Portland Trail Blazers game when the team held its tic-tac-toe competition. The rules are very simple: there is a blank board at the middle of the court, and players stand at either basket. Make a layup, grab either an X or an O, run to the board and try to win at tic-tac-toe.

Turns out that wasn’t so simple for either player in this game. They both struggled with the basic concept of how tic-tac-toe works.

While the Trailblazers’ announcer was exasperated, it made for a good laugh for anyone who was watching (video from Bleacher Report):
