The Chiefs fan’s name is Scott and he is having a difficult time.

It seems Scott can’t acknowledge in his football fan group therapy that the Chiefs lost to the Titans in Saturday’s AFC Wild Card Game. Then comes a breakthrough.

“I’ll admit it,” Scott says. “We lost yesterday. … At practice, the Chiefs lost because it was a scrimmage.”

The group groans and scolds him. A Bengals fan yells: “You lost a playoff game.”

It was part of the YouTube video series called “NFL Fan Therapy.” The latest episode, which posted Monday, is focused on the Chiefs.

As Scott, who is played by Scott Swayze, struggles to admit the loss to the Titans was real, he gets some advice from the therapist, played by Kady Ruth Ashcraft.

“I want to tell you what you’re doing right now,” the therapist says. “You’re making this loss harder on yourself and you’re extending the grief process by denying what happened.”

Later, Scott says: “I have been given by a purpose by the Chiefs year over year … to drink. My purpose has been to drink.”

The group acknowledges that has happened to them as well.

Too soon?
