Cincinnati Reds manager Bryan Price really, really hates how news works today (listen)
Cincinnati Reds manager Bryan Price is really frustrated — not at his team’s mediocre performance so far — but at why the media would care about players who are not playing.
What started as an innocuous question about Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco missing Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals turned into a tirade against the media.
“I don’t understand what the importance is for everybody to know if we have a player that’s not here,” Price said in a daily pregame interview on Sunday. Television crews had already left. “I don’t get it. ... Has it always been this way? Where we just tell everybody everything?”
Then follows a string of expletives that tallies up to 77 F-bombs, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Listen.
Here’s what it looks like if you were to write part of it out (the Cincinnati Enquirer actually transcribed all of it).

While I'm amused listening to Bryan Price's rant, the guy is really out of touch if he thinks it isn't the media's job to sniff out stories.
— David Kaplan (@thekapman) April 21, 2015Bryan Price should be reminded that a lot of reporters are not paid by the teams or MLB. @ctrent works for Enquirer readers, not the Reds.
— Buster Olney (@Buster_ESPN) April 21, 2015For Bryan Price's peace of mind, he should look at this way: Everything gets out. And when it doesn't, he can view that as a bonus.
— Buster Olney (@Buster_ESPN) April 21, 2015But Price has his supporters.
In sports everyone is allowed to say what they feel about a team except for the people directly involved ..Go Bryan Price
— Dan Dakich (@dandakich) April 21, 2015Of course, cussing is nothing new in sports. See this tweet (warning: it is not censored).
Now that Bryan Price has had his great managerial meltdown, here's my favorite profane rant, from Tommy Lasorda: http://t.co/EU3GKccuqp.
