Demetrius Harris saved the Chiefs on a muffed punt against Chargers

Chiefs backup tight end Demetrius Harris had one of the biggest plays of the first quarter of Saturday night’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium.

And it came on a punt.

The Chargers had punted and the ball didn’t travel as far as Daniel Sorensen or Tyreek Hill had expected. The ball caromed off Sorensen and toward the end zone, and a pair of Chargers players were poised to fall on it.

That’s when Harris shoved the Chargers’ Nick Dzubnar and the ball kicked away from him, and the Chiefs recovered.

Instead of the Chargers having the ball in the red zone, the Chiefs got it. The drove down the field and kicked a field goal.
