Watch the Georgia Dome implosion in Atlanta
The Georgia Dome packed a lot into its 25 years of existence.
Two Super Bowls were played there — XXVIII in 1994, which Dallas won, and XXXIV in 2000, which the Rams won as the Titans came up 1 yard short on the final play of the game. The 2002, 2007 and 2013 men’s Final Fours were held at the facility as well as the 2003 women’s Final Four.
The dome was at one time home to the Falcons, Atlanta Hawks and the Peach Bowl, and it was damaged by a tornado during the 2008 SEC men’s basketball tournament.
It opened in September 1992, and was officially destroyed on Monday. The Falcons moved into the Mercedes-Benz Stadium for this season, so the Georgia Dome was imploded on Monday.
