Facebook baseball map shows growth of Royals’ fanbase from a year ago

The Royals’ run to the World Series a year ago has, not suprisingly, translated into a bigger fan base.

Facebook showed fan support by zip code, and because the Royals were in the World Series, showed the gains they had made from the previous season.

Notably, the Royals ate into Yankees territory in Nebraska and took support away from the Cardinals in Missouri. The Royals’ support is headed east, so let’s just call it Manifest Destiny.

Among the Missouri counties that appeared to have fallen to the Royals include Linn, Saline and Pettis.
