Noah Syndergaard’s ‘Game of Thrones’ cameo resembled Brick from ‘Anchorman’
Let me just get this out of the way first: I don’t watch “Game of Thrones,” so if there is a spoiler alert in this post, I apologize.
But Mets star pitcher Noah Syndergaard made his anticipated cameo on the show in Sunday’s episode and he portrayed a Lannister soldier.

In a fight scene, Syndergaard threw a spear at someone on a horse and killed the guy:

Here is what Syndergaard said about his appearance on Twitter:

To my sides defense....they had a FRICKEN DRAGON!!!

At least I didn't throw behind him.
Yeah, apparently there are dragons on the show. As noted, I haven’t watched “Game of Thrones,” but that clip reminded me of something that I couldn’t put my finger on at first.
Then it hit me: Syndergaard looked like Brick Tamland, the weatherman from the movie “Anchorman” who was played by Steve Carell. If you’ve seen that film, you know there is a funny fight scene featuring the news teams from all over San Diego.
In that fight scene, Brick Tamland threw a trident at someone on a horse and killed the guy:
Am I wrong? Those scenes look pretty darn similar to me. It’s not spot-on, because Brick had a trident, and that was just a little bit cooler.
By the way, here is the entire fight scene from “Anchorman” (there may be some language you find offensive):
