Consider this the best campaign commercial you’ll ever seen.

The latest All-Star Game voting results released on Tuesday showed that Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer had jumped from third to first in fan voting. Royals catcher Salvador Perez is still leading at his position, and before Tuesday’s game against the Boston Red Sox, Perez was asked about the voting.

As you can see in the video above, Perez acknowledged that Royals fans have done a wonderful job in getting Hosmer to the top spot. But now he wants to get some other teammates in the mix, particularly third baseman Mike Moustakas and Perez’s old friend, center fielder Lorenzo Cain.

“Thank you for doing a tremendous job for Hosmer, but now it’s time to put in Moose and Cain,” Perez said as he had an armed wrapped around Hosmer. “Thank you guys.”

There was one other thing: “And don’t forget about me, too.”

“That,” Hosmer said with a laugh, “was perfectly said.”

Voting for the All-Star Game ends at 10:59 p.m. on June 29. The All-Star Game is July 11 in Miami.
