Take a look at Homer Simpson’s plaque at Baseball Hall of Fame
The Baseball Hall of Fame is paying tribute to a softball team on Saturday. An animated one.
In honor of the 25th anniversary of “The Simpsons” iconic episode “Homer at the Bat,” the Hall of Fame is having a discussion of the famous game between the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant and the Shelbyville plant.
Mr. Burns hires a group of Major League Baseball stars to help win the game: Wade Boggs, Ozzie Smith, Roger Clemens, Darryl Strawberry, Steve Sax, Don Mattingly, Mike Scioscia, Jose Canseco and Ken Griffey Jr. For a variety of funny reasons, all of the players can’t make the game except Strawberry, who bumps Homer Simpson from the starting lineup.
In the end, Simpson plays hero and has the game-winning RBI. That’s why he is being “inducted” into the Hall of Fame.
Here is the plaque created for Homer.

If you are a fan of “The Simpsons,” then you’ll note that his plaque has references to other episodes of the show.
Boggs and Smith were expected to join the discussion Saturday about that episode.
By the way, here is how Homer won the game:
