For Pete's Sake

Faith Hill booed at St. Louis concert when she mentioned NFL Draft

The Tim McGraw and Faith Hill “Soul2Soul Tour” stopped in St. Louis on Thursday, and here’s a tip for any performer out there.

Know a little bit about your audience before taking the stage.

Hill learned a hard lesson, because she mentioned the NFL during her show Thursday and the crowd was not happy. Fans in St. Louis are still bitter that the Rams moved to Los Angeles after the 2015 season.

Hill thought she’d hear cheers when she asked the crowd: “Do you know what I was watching before we came out here?”

“I know,” McGraw said.

Hill gleefully said, “The NFL Draft!”

McGraw responded, “That’s my girl!” as the crowd began jeering Hill.

“What??” Hill said. “You’re booing me? What the ...”

Yeah, they were booing you, Faith. C’mon. St. Louis hates the Rams and the NFL for allowing the team to bolt.

McGraw said the audience was unhappy with the Rams, which drew more boos from the crowd when people heard the “R” word.

Hill tried to reason with the crowd and said, “Seriously, you’re not going to watch football any more?”

They will, but only if the Rams stink. McGraw saved the moment by mentioning the Blues and Cardinals, which delighted the crowd.

The duo will be in Kansas City in September, so Hill likely will hear cheers if she mentions the Draft or the Chiefs.
