PGA golfer thanks Andy Reid for timeout before Titans’ winning field goal
Well, that wasn’t a fun Chiefs game on Sunday.
The offense didn’t score in the second half, Alex Smith threw an interception in the end zone and the Chiefs lost 19-17 to the Tennessee Titans at Arrowhead Stadium.
Former Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop made a 53-yard field as time expired to win it for the Titans. Succop missed his first attempt, but the Chiefs called a timeout just before he kicked, so he got a second chance.
Given the new opportunity, Succop’s kick was good, and Titans fans everywhere were ecstatic. That includes PGA golfer Brandt Snedeker.
Snedeker, who is ranked No. 28 in the world, was born in Nashville and attended Vanderbilt. After the game he tweeted this:
Thanks Andy Reid!!!!! TITAN UP!!!! Succop you BEAUTY!! So happy for these guys!!!!

The reaction from Chiefs fans was much different, as you might expect. Lots of second questions from people.
Why did Andy call timeout #ChiefsKingdom

That's why I hate that timeout to ice the kicker! All you do is give him a practice kick. Such a dumb move by coaches

If #Chiefs lose division or don't even make playoffs, blame that boneheaded timeout call.

@LWOS_KCChiefs Andy Reid is the worst timeout caller in NFL history, bar none

Wowwwww if they wouldn't have called that damn timeout they would've won

Call a timeout FOR the Titans... allows them to set up huge 1st down play. Then... calling TO to 'ice kicker'... HELPS Succop. DAAAAAMN!!
— #BrodyFuentes (@BreezeM3) December 18, 2016
Whoever called that timeout.... why would you give the kicker a warm up kick?
