ESPN’s “GameDay” crew will be in Lawrence on Saturday, and for one member of the network, it could have been a return to his old haunts.

Jay Bilas was recruited by former Kansas coach Ted Owens in the early 1980s and he has the letter to prove it.

Alas, Bilas attended Duke where he scored more than 1,000 points and later served as an assistant coach for the Blue Devils.
