Jonny Gomes’ tattoo commemorates his epic speech at World Series celebration
We are nearing the one-year anniversary of the day the Royals won the World Series. After that comes the one-year anniversary of The Parade.
It was on that beautiful November day that seemingly all of Kansas City congregated in one part of the city and feted the boys in blue. One of the highlights of that celebration was Jonny Gomes’ speech at Union Station when he made it clear that the Royals had conquered Major League Baseball.
Of course, Gomes wasn’t on the Royals’ postseason roster, and played in just 12 regular-season games, but he unleashed a monologue that was punctuated with: “We whooped their ass.”
Gomes now has those very words tattooed on his calf:
As you can see, Eric Hosmer was clearly impressed.
Gomes is the latest player from the 2015 Royals to get a tattoo to commemorate that World Series, following Paulo Orlando and Salvador Perez.
