A shared Chargers-Raiders stadium could mean one team would leave the AFC West
A new stadium in Los Angeles (well, Carson, Calif.) could radically change the AFC West.
The Los Angeles Times reported that the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers are investigating the possibility of sharing a stadium in Carson. The cost? A mere $1.7 billion.
Pro Football Talk said it’s likely that if the plan become reality, either the Chargers or Raiders would have to leave the division.
That probably would involve a swap of teams in the West divisions in the AFC and NFC.
It’s all conjecture at this point, but if that did happen, which team you want to move? And which NFC West team would you like to see in the Chiefs’ division?

Naturally, this was a topic of conversation Friday. Here is a sampling of what people thought on the matter:
My thoughts: AFC West: KC, DEN, LA Raiders (OAK), SEA NFC West: STL, SF, AZ, LA Chargers (SD) #NFLinLA #AFCWest #NFCWest
— Justin Gibson (@JGibsonDem) February 20, 2015The Raiders & Chargers proposal to move to LA would move the Raiders to the NFC West and the Seahawks to the AFC west!
— Andrew Fulk (@fulknA) February 20, 2015So the NFL might move the Chargers or raiders to the NFC? Bring the seahawks back to the AFC west
— Chris (@Lil_C__) February 20, 2015Rams would probably move to the AFC West if the Raiders and Chargers both move to Los Angeles. Two Rams–Chiefs games every year would rock.
— Mike Mandell (@MichaelJMandell) February 20, 2015If Chargers/Raiders stadium comes to fruition, I would love to see Raiders go NFC West and Rams to AFC West. #cheifs/ramseveryyear
— Jason Posey (@jposey34) February 20, 2015I agree that Chargers seem more loosely connected to AFC West than the Raiders.
