Royals catcher Salvador Perez spotted in preview for TV show, ‘Pitch’
Hey, maybe the next All-Star Game MVP will be Royals catcher Salvador Perez.
Perez might not be the MVP of next year’s actual All-Star Game, but in a preview for next week’s episode of “Pitch,” Perez is shown getting ready to bat against the main character. “Pitch” is the TV series about a woman named Ginny Baker who joins the San Diego Padres and, well, I haven’t watched an episode, so I’m not sure how things work out.
However, colleague Mark Davis saw part of last night’s show and alerted me to the preview for next week. Here it is and Perez appears just 4 seconds into the video:
I don’t think Perez will actually appear on the show, because there is no mention of it on his IMDB page (although he had a memorable role in the TV mini-series “2015 World Series”). Perez’s appearance on “Pitch” is probably just a video of Perez from this summer’s All-Star Game.
He did wear the gold-lettered KC helmet in that game, and that’s the one he’s wearing in the video. So that means ... I spent too much time thinking about this.
Salvy hit a homer in the All-Star Game in July in San Diego, so maybe that means he will hit a home run against Baker on the show. Who knows?
Because you didn’t demand it, here is a bit of trivia about the actress who plays Baker. Her name is Kylie Bunbury, and her brother is Alex Bunbury, the former Kansas City Wizards forward.
