Astros minor-league player tweets ‘no lady needs to be on ESPN’
Jessica Mendoza has been outstanding in the broadcast booth during ESPN baseball games.
As usual, she offered great insight during Wednesday’s National League Wild Card Game between the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants.
Sadly, she is still the target of scorn in some circles. Case in point: Houston Astros minor-leaguer Brooks Marlow tweeted “no lady needs to be on ESPN” during Wednesday’s game. Marlow, a 23-year-old former Texas Longhorns player who was at Class A ball this season, later deleted the tweet, but it was screengrabbed by Twitter user Neil Weinberg:

Marlow later apologized as well before he deleted his account.

The Houston Astros quickly had a little chat with Marlow, and the team also apologized.
