Sporting KC players post photo that’s a perfect response to Jurgen Klinsmann’s fitness issues
U.S. national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann caused a stink recently when he criticized the fitness level of his players, particularly those who are in Major League Soccer.
The Star’s Sam McDowell talked with Sporting Kansas City coach Peter Vermes and defender Matt Besler about that topic and Vermes summed it up well: “It’s utterly ridiculous.”
Besler said his goal is to be in peak fitness by the start of the MLS season.
Klinsmann fired back Monday on Twitter:
Just to clarify the fitness discussion: All players need to ALWAYS be prepared 100% to represent the USA! It is an honor to be on the #USMNT
